After some great feedback from users of the ProWorkflow iPhone app’s 1st release, we’re please to release an update with a few highly requested features. This update has been released to Apple and will be available early mid week.

Auto Numbering Change
The ProWorkflow application has auto numbering built in. The first release of the iPhone app didn’t. We’ve added this now, so when you create projects on the iPhone the number will be generated automatically based on your auto number format in the main app.

Add Manual Time
Although the iPhone app had great time tracking it was missing the ‘Manual Entry’. So we’ve now allowed the user to ‘Add Manual Time’ to their tasks as well as the automatic time tracking.

add manual time record enter details of manual time recorddate & time of manual time record

Misc Tweaks & changes

  • Fixed a few small bugs in the contacts/companies section.
  • Fixed spinner on Task Details screen.
  • Changed Trial Account structure
  • Added ‘Terms’ to iPhone app (During Signup).
  • Updated copyright date throughout.

Have Ideas?
If you have any other suggestions for the iPhone app, please feel welcome to add these to the ProWorkflow Uservoice page so other users can vote on them. We’re listening!

image We have a lot of customers recommending ProWorkflow to their customers and would like to be able to reward them if they refer a lead that signs up for an account.

We currently have a ProWorkflow Affiliate Program that can pay a fixed fee for a referral to sale and many people are already receiving referral fees for putting Affiliate banners and links on their sites (that convert to sale).

How does it work?

So basically, you would put a link or ad on your website. You tell a customer or friend to click that link/ad to visit our website. From there we track it all so if they sign up for an account we know you referred them.

Click here to read about the specifics of the Affiliate commission structure. The program has built in reporting and notification (shown below) so you can see the traffic you’re sending and what’s converting into a ProWorkflow sale!

How do I signup & get the Ad/Link for my site?

Follow the instructions below to get setup. It’s worth doing to get a kickback for referring people to the ProWorkflow solution. If you get a cheque in the post it’ll help with the office social fund!

STEP 1.

Visit the Affiliate Sign Up page and enter your details to become a ProWorkflow affiliate.

Note: There’s an option lower down the form to ‘Refer a Friend’. If you do this you’ll clip the ticket on their commissions!

image

STEP 2.

Visit the Affiliates Area and you’ll see a welcome screen. Look at the links on the top menu. The links are: Reports, Creatives & Settings.

image

  • Reports
Displays reporting about traffics, clicks, impressions, click-thru ratios etc. The reports also show commission and payment history.

  • Creatives

Here you can grab the code for the banners and links that you want to put on your website. Just copy the code!

  • Settings
Your account settings. You can update your address and contact details, payment currency etc.

STEP 3.

Click on the ‘Creatives’ link at the top. Here you can access creative material for both banner ads and text links.

To add a Text Link to your website…
Click ‘Text Ads’ then the available text ads will appear below. Click the one you want to add to your website and you’ll be shown the code.

Note: We recommend adding both the Text Link shown below and a banner ad as well. The more the better!

image

To add a Banner Ad to your website…
Click ‘Banners’ then the available text ads will appear below. Click the one you want to add to your website and you’ll be shown the code.

image

STEP 4.

Add the code to your website and you’ll see the text link or banner ad appear. The link to ProWorkflow includes your Affilate ID. For example:

http://www.proworkflow.com/?kbid=XXXX&m=10

When people click the text link or banner ad from your website we track the traffic and lead, and if they sign up you receive a commission (in accordance to the terms).

image Due to customer demand, we’re now reviewing the idea of adding a CRM plugin to ProWorkflow. We think it’s a good fit for the ProWorkflow app and our users needs so have your say and help us get this done right  ;-)
.

So who wants a CRM Manager?

If you are interested in this, feel welcome to add general thoughts and comments on this blog post below, however all detailed functionality ideas should be added to our UserVoice page.

This way other customers can vote for your ideas and we can create a great CRM plugin that appeals to most users needs.

Some of our initial ideas are:

  • Import from Highrise, Salesforce, SugarCRM and JavelinCRM
  • Import from XL or a Text file
  • Add Contacts manually
  • Contact list showing statuses, possibly grouped
  • Add notes and followup reminders
  • Call manager page for call/contact reminders
  • Basic report
  • etc…

Nothing is set in stone yet – we’re just gathering ideas. We don’t want to make it complex, just a good easy to use way to bring in prospects, mark their status, add notes, plan calls/followups and when a live lead, push them into ProWorkflow’s main contact list.

So now is the time to have your say. We don’t want a large complex tool, just an easy way to manage leads…

Add your general thoughts about the idea below, and specific functionality ideas to the UserVoice page. Let us know if you think it’s a good move to add a CRM plugin.

We just spotted a ProWorkflow customer review today that I thought was worth posting. Looks like we’re doing a lot right, still have some things to work on, but we do appreciate the kind words!

Pros

As a long time Basecamp customer, we had been looking for the "next step" for several months but held off because of concerns that our users would struggle with a new system.
We came across ProWorkflow through a recommendation and signed up for a free trial (just like Basecamp). There was a lot more to it than we expected but the support was great, with useful training videos and REAL people on the phone!
It’s a big leap ahead of Basecamp and in the few months we’ve been using ProWorkflow, we’ve been really impressed at the speed of development. A few of my team are also using the iPhone app (which is free, take note 37signals!!) and love it.
Support has continued to be terrific, the team have helped us with any questions and go far beyond what I would expect.

Cons

Coming from Basecamp, the interface is busier but with more features I suppose that is unavoidable. There are some occasions where 2-3 windows are used when 1 would do the job but I’m assured that this is being worked on and the developers haven’t let us down so far.
Otherwise, it’s hard to pick fault with!

Overall

A great example of online software done right, I can’t see us ever moving to anything else!

image We’ve rolled out some great updates recently but this is one we know you’ve all been waiting for. Today, Julian Stone, CEO of ProActive Software, has announced a partnership with a large global Pizza chain that will allow you to order their world famous pizzas on demand (P.O.D.) from both our ProWorkflow web application and the iPhone app.

It gets even better, you can add the bill to your project expenses and we’ll send out an automatic invoice to your client. On the flip side, you can also send out pizzas to your clients and we’ll bill you directly as part of your normal account charges. You can even choose a message and our dedicated pizza masters will write it on the pizza. Later in the year we’re planning to integrate this with our quotes and invoices modules so you can send out edible invoices!

This is only the first of several similar partnerships, we’re also in talks with a well known global Coffee chain so soon you’ll be able to get coffee on demand (C.O.D.), great for those late nights when you need an extra caffeine hit!

We have added a new function to the ProWorkflow API that now allows the full use of the Auto-Number feature!

This has been a highly requested addition to the API functionality so we are really glad to have released this.  As a key part of managing projects it will enable the contiguous numbering of new Projects when added via the API and lessen the admin previously required when adding in this way.

There is a new webservice call for ‘Create Job Number’
http://api.proworkflow.com/projects-manager/create-job-number/

This will first check whether Auto-Number is on or off in the app and return the appropriate data.

As a result, when using this the <CurrentAutoNumber> will need to be sent in the Add Job http://api.proworkflow.com/projects-manager/add-job/ call.

For further info on working with the ProWorkflow API, check out the API Center or contact Support

It’s Daylight Saving time again!

Some users would have already moved clocks and others will be over the coming few weekends. When tracking time it can be a little confusing when looking at your timesheet until you update your personal time so it’s a good idea to pop in and do this. Use the link on the time in the header to access your Personal Settings, make your change and ‘Update’

A quick video to show how where this is:

If you’re super keen you can even pop the next change in your calendar now!

The connectivity issues that were encountered yesterday have now been resolved. These were caused by routing issues near our Chicago data center and affected a number of customers. We will be carrying out a full investigation in conjunction with our service providers but wanted to assure you that there was no risk in terms of data security or loss.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience which, whilst outside of our control, meant ProWorkflow was unavailable to some customers during this time. This is the first instance in over 7 years where we have experienced these issues and we will be working to ensure we continue to meet our previous track record of class-leading reliability.

EVENT UPDATE 23-MAR-10 14:30 CDT:  Following the activation of BGP on the newly repaired Internap circuit, all outstanding intermittent routing and connectivity issues in the Chicago an Cedar Falls LT Data Centers have been resolved.  The resolution of these issues suggests an underlying routing issue at Internap as well as physical-layer connection problem that was isolated and resolved earlier in the day.  Operations and Network Engineering are monitoring customer connectivity and the status of the BGP peering session, respectively.  We appreciate the patience and understanding of our customers during this process.
