Here’s a few of my favorite tips for getting the most from your ProWorkflow account, snazzy little tweaks can make life so much more enjoyable and at this time of year we’re all keen for that.

After our server upgrade for ProWorkflow.com we decided we needed to spruce up our 404 page a little bit, it was a tad boring and drab so our resident designer Julian has made us a new one.

We had the developers working late last night to roll out the latest ProWorkflow update which includes Inline Editing and a new Dashboard (With summaries)! So far the feedback has been awesome and the users love these tweaks…
New Dashboard!
Below is the new dashboard layout: (Clean and Clear!)
We’ve used a heap of JQuery (AJAX) and other technology in this screen to improve the usability, feel and speed of the page. Once this is perfected we’ll rollout these techniques to other areas of the solution.

Expanding the sections above will give you awesome summaries so you can easily track progress and issues… Here’s the project Summary for example:

Inline Editing!
In the Project Details page you can now double click nearly all the data, live onscreen to edit it rather than waiting for popups to load! How quick is that!! Once this is perfected we’ll rollout these techniques to other areas of the solution as well.

It’s frustrating sometimes to be looking at your Upcoming Items and see all your projects and tasks when you’re really only interested in checking on the tasks you have on your plate.
It’s actually a nice quick setting change so don’t let that frustration get to you!
Just head to your personal settings (My Personal Settings) and here you can change your selection:
This is really handy because it will change the view on both your Calendar Page and your Personal Summary (the brand spanking new dash!).
The other settings you may want to check on at the same time are:
- default period displayed on your Calendar
- default period displayed in your Upcoming Items
- whether you wish to show the Mini-Calendar
- whether you wish to show you Upcoming Items on your dash
So don’t be shy – it’s your interface after all

What’s a Haiku?

We mentioned earlier on this month we were working on a better dashboard for all users along with inline editing on the Project Details page, well after making a few tweaks internally we’ve now rolled the update out to a limited few of our Beta Testers for them to try out, offer advice, and try to break.
Within the next couple of weeks once they have confirmed with us it’s all bug free and looking great we’ll be rolling it out to all our other customers, think of it as a New Years present for everyone.
Quick Email
Are you closing down or slowing down over the Holidays?
If so a neat and easy way to let your clients know is to send them a Quick Email from your Contacts Page.
Just click on the green client icon and you’re able to send a message to all (or selected) contacts in one hit.
Using the inbuilt WYSIWYG editor you can send a professional and personalised email. Don’t be scared to utilize the variables, it’s such a nice touch to address the email message to the person themselves.
As an example:
Season’s greetings {firstname},
The office will be officially closed over the holiday period but be assured that we’ll still be keeping up with your project.
You can enjoy your own holiday knowing that your business is being attended to.

Just remember if you’re trying out using the test email function the variable will not pull through any details (because you’re not specifying the contact) so don’t panic, try sending one to yourself or colleague and see the result.
