Client Dropdown!

A large number of users wanted another dropdown to choose the client first, then filter the project list. Done and dusted!

Changes to Task View screen

There’s a few changes on this screen, all designed to get you more efficient!

• Default to Time tab!
  To make it faster to get to time tracking, when you view a task it’ll default to the ‘Time’ tab.
• Project List Icon
  We’ve moved the project list icon (4x bars) to the right to make it a little clearer.
• Minimized (Slim) view!
  People told us they didn’t like the size of the widget when time tracking so we shrunk it! Just click the minimize icon and you’ll get a tiny version – sweet!

Hyperlink removed!

There was a link on the ProWorkflow.com text so if you dragged the widget it would keep opening the ProWorkflow website. We’ve removed this link.

Cancel Time Record!

There was no way to cancel a time record when started, so we added a ‘Delete Record’ link to this view below.

Default Start View!

Our users wanted to be able to start on different views, ie: Search, Choose Task etc so we’ve added these as options.

We’ll get focussed on finishing V8 now but we’re still wanting to hear ideas for the Widget and let if know if you find any issues. We can push out updates quickly if needed.

We’ve just finished a new time tracking widget (Beta) to replace the old one and given it a lot more functionality! You can now do the following in the desktop time tracking widget!

• Search or select Tasks to work on
• View ‘Upcoming’ Tasks
• View Task Details
• Track Time (Manual/Automatic)
• Add/View Files
• Add/View Messages

Have fun! We’ll be extending the functionality in the new year. We just wanted to put this out early so your feedback could be considered for the next release!

Default View – Task search

This is the default view. Just start typing and your tasks will appear below! Click them to view the task.

Choose Task

If using this option, just select the project and task and you’re good to go!

Upcoming Tasks

Clicking the expand icon on the top bar will show the ‘Upcoming Tasks’ list. See what’s coming up and get straight into it!

Task Details

We’ve extended the functionality of the widget so now you can view info, track time, upload files and add messages to any task!

You also now have both stop/start and manual time tracking. The numbers will indicate if time is over allocated or if there’s files and messages to view.

Upload Files to Tasks

Just drag files from your desktop to the selected task. Easy!

Task Messages

View or add messages to any task! Nice and easy!

Settings

The settings are the same as the current widget. Simple and does the job!

We know that it’s cool to give releases cutesy or cool names (think Poseidon, Longhorn, Panther, Gran Paradiso) however we’re pretty excited about V8 as a name – it’s powerful, fast and versatile.

The V8 release isn’t an update, it’s a total rebuild from the ground up using latest technology. You’ll find it easy to use and it’s really fast!

As much as we’d love to drop more hints it’s sufficient to say that this is going at a cracking pace and the internal previews are very pleasing. There are still a few limited places on the beta program for subscription customers so drop us a line if you’re keen.

We’ve rewritten the application from the ground up and packed it full of usability enhancements, page redesigns, ajax, graphs and other goodies! We’ve also got the application loading up to 15x faster, removed popups, added more inline editing and totally reworked the most used pages!

The view in the mobile app is a little more limited than the staff view but still gives them enough to see what’s going on, view files, add messages and have a general overview.

Have a play, try yourself with a client login and then start to tell your clients about their new project access!

How do we use it?

To access the mobile webapp, just open Safari on your iPhone or a web browser on your Android smartphone (or any smartphone). Just type in the account URL and add ‘/m/’ to the end…

Example:

If you account was: https://proworkflow5.net/SAMPLE/
You would add ‘/m/’ to the end. it should be:
https://proworkflow5.net/SAMPLE/m/

What will they see?

Below are the screens that your clients and contractors will be able to see. Please note they can only see THEIR projects only. Clients will never see other clients’ work.

Today we went over the 10 million mark for the number of hours tracked in ProWorkflow
(Live accounts only, excluding trials)!

As more customers come on board with the ProWorkflow project management software and we see the numbers climb, we’re stoked to see the app delivering value and the infrastructure holding strong!

Many are long time customers and their feedback is vital to us in the ongoing application development. We love helping our users get their business processes streamlined and it’s great to see them put so much chargeable work through the system.

At average studio rates, this is getting around the 1 billion dollar mark for the amount of work invoiced through ProWorkflow!

Wow! Go ProWorkers!

The next milestone will be 1 million projects! We’re currently at 809,347 projects and 3,389,282 tasks!

Thanks to our awesome userbase for keeping us on our toes and giving great feedback as we continually develop! We’ll also soon be announcing the V8 release and that will take your ROI to a whole new level again!

New! – Multi-select

You can now make a change to one Project or Task bar and the change will be replicated to any other bars you’ve selected, great for making lots of changes in less time.

Double-click on a Project bar to select the Project as well as all of its active tasks, any change you make will affect the Project and Tasks so adjusting your entire schedule is a breeze.

Note: If you just want to change a few Tasks then just hold down the Control key and you can select individual tasks one at a time.

Static Project and Task Titles

No matter how far you scroll sideways, the Project and Task names will always be visible so you can be 100% sure what you are making changes to.

Client View

Your clients can now use the Timeline Page to view any Tasks you have given them permission to see so they can see just how hard you are working for them!

These changes are live now on all accounts, if you don’t see them then you might need to clear your cache just to make sure you get the latest code.

The new Timeline lets you see your schedule and workload as well as giving you the power to adjust start and due dates with just one click.

Using the Timeline to reschedule your work couldn’t be simpler – just enable the Edit Mode, you can move the entire Project or Task or just change the start or due dates:

To help you plan future work and highlight any under or over-resourcing issues, the allocated hours per day for each staff member is shown below the Timeline. If you need a breakdown then just hover over the total to view all of the details.

Here’s the workload breakdown detail showing on hover.

The Timeline will automatically show you all active Tasks from 1 week ago onwards but it’s easy to adjust this if you need to see a wider range. Also there are handy filters so you can view tasks for a certain user, client or category.

The individual Project Timeline has also been updated on the Project Details page – scheduling has never been so easy!

We’re delighted to announce that our new mobile web app is now live on all accounts!

This will be a fantastic way to stay on top of your projects, tasks and staff from your mobile device and we think we’ve created something that will make a real difference to how you use ProWorkflow!

How do I get it?

Easy! – In your web browser, type your account URL into the address bar and just add “/m” to the end like the example below:

Normal login URL – https://proworkflow6.net/COMPANY

Mobile login URL – https://proworkflow6.net/COMPANY/m

At the moment only Staff can use the mobile site but in 2-3 weeks we’ll be adding support for clients and contractors as well as automatically redirecting mobile users to the correct site if they try to use your normal login URL.

Current iPhone App User?

This is a completely different application. The iPhone app will still work as normal. To use the new application, open your Safari web browser and type the address of your online ProWorkflow account as per the instructions above.

You’ll be able to use this on most smartphones and tablets but if you aren’t lucky enough to have one yet or are just curious then here are some screenshots so you can see what we’ve got waiting for you!

All of these screenshots are taken from an iPhone but the mobile web app has been tested on iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry devices. Windows Mobile Users will need to download Opera Mobile or another webkit-based browser (Internet Explorer can’t manage some of the more advanced features, sorry Microsoft fans!).

Login Page
Use the “Remember me” option and you’ll only have to enter your details once.

Dashboard Page
A summary of your current details, you can view details for other staff by tapping your name in the upper right. This page also serves as the portal to each of the other main pages.

Projects Page
View all your active projects in convenient groups and use the instant search to find a project quickly.

Project Details
View all of your Project information including quick tabs for Tasks, Messages and Files. You can also view Shared Notes, Bookmarks and Finance Data as well as adding Project Expenses.

Quickly check the status of each Task within a Project, the complete and timer buttons give you an instant way to complete tasks and start tracking time.

Review all messages in a clean threaded format, you can add a new message or reply to an existing one.

Any files that have been uploaded can be viewed (dependent on device support).
