ProWorkflow can integrate with QuickBooks to synchronize invoices. We recently discovered a small problem with really long company and client names. If they were too long, the invoices wouldn’t send to QuickBooks.
Some info about the QuickBooks character limit on the ‘Company’ or ‘Client Name’ field
Previously the QuickBooks (QB) character limit on these fields meant that occasionally the user received an error on sending invoices to QB. This usually required the user to send the QB log file to ProWorkflow’s support team and involved some troubleshooting our end. QuickBooks character limit for the ‘Company’ and ‘Client Name’ fields is 42 characters (Frustrating eh!).
We have fixed this so that now, when the QuickBooks Connect integration is used PWF will validate these fields before sending invoices to QB and will give onscreen alerts if there are any issues.
The user is able to continue sending all other invoices and then adjust the ‘Company’ or ‘Client Name’ to that required by the QuickBooks Web Connector we use in the integration (http://marketplace.intuit.com/webconnector/)
QB incomplete fields for Client Name
QuickBooks requires a ‘Client Name’ whereas in PWF you are able to invoice to a ‘Company Contact’ only – We have fixed this so that now, we’ll let you that QB requires this with a helpful onscreen alert in PWF.
